Ride 3 - Chenas, Julie and Julias

Smells of fresh rosemary coming from the grand kitchen of the Chateau helped awaken the soul following another evening of sound sleep (thanks to ear plugs). Nourished with scrumptious pear yogurht, verbena tea and an apple from the garden, Bill and I headed out for quick ride prior to us picking up the other three riders in Lyon for our trek through the Alps. The sun was
out today, fog drapped the valley and the morning light seemed to indicated a great day. We started climbing right out of Chenas, climbing, climbing feeling free like a mountain goat. We passed lavendar and grapes, smelling sweet cherve in the air. The quick ride was so excellent before jumping in the van...grabbing a jamon and chevre pane in Belleville (looking for the
triplets but no luck).

Stats for the Day:
Temp: 65F
Overcast in the AM turning to Sunny skys by late Morning.
Distance: 16 miles
Ascent: 1560 ft
Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Calories: 420

We are in Lyon having just picked up Bealle and Marcie and Dean. Heading to
hotel in Stm Quentin.
