Day 1 - Chenas & Col de Durbize

Arrived in Lyon with bikes and luggage without a hitch. We drove north to Macon (heart of Burgundy region) THEN low blood sugar hit...quickly Bill's keen driving skills spotted the Credit Agricole ATM (I gladly used given my fondness of Christophe Moreau) and we landed in this amazing little restaurant serving it own vintage of Beaujolias (fabulously chilled) and served with the most delicate chicken in a mignion redux with plump driedfruits of fall.

About 30 minutes later under a complete food coma and sleep deprevation we power napped for 40 minutes.

Awakening we pieced together our bikes and headed our for a leg warmer in the french vineyards strung along rolling hills. Ride from Chenas to Col de Durbize (at 550m) the first col of the trip and probably the smallest!

Here were the stats:

Temp: 75F
Low clouds then light drizzle turning to rain last 10 min of ride.
Distance: 15 miles
Accent: 1560 feet
Time: 65 minutes
Calories: 390
